How should I coordinate with my child’s primary pediatrician after an urgent care visit so records and follow-up are seamless?

Prime Time Pediatrics makes handing off care to your child’s regular doctor simple, but a few quick steps from you ensure nothing slips through the cracks.

  1. Provide your child’s primary pediatrician’s name, city, and fax number when you register online through our Fast Pass or when you call ahead; our electronic record includes the urgent-care visit note, lab results, and other information to that office as soon as the chart is signed.
  2. Before leaving, pick up or request a printed “After-Visit Summary.” Keep one copy for yourself and drop the other at your doctor’s front desk or attach it to your secure portal message so the information is in their system before your follow-up.
  3. Call your pediatrician’s office within 24–48 hours to schedule any recommended re-check (for example, ear infection or asthma flare) and confirm they received the note. If they didn’t, call us at (706) 705-4543 and we’ll resend it right away.
  4. Save time by uploading the visit summary or imaging reports directly to many portals through your phone; most offices accept PDFs or clear photos.

Because our clinic is staffed by board-certified pediatric urgent-care specialists, your child’s primary doctor receives a clear, pediatric-focused plan of care, making ongoing treatment seamless and avoiding duplicated tests. That way you get the convenience of a kids urgent care near you tonight and the continuity of your regular medical home tomorrow.
