David R. Sprayberry

MD, FAAP

David R. Sprayberry, a Georgia resident for most of his life and the father of 4 (now adult) children, is a 1995 graduate of the University of Georgia Terry College of Business and a proud Georgia Bulldog. After 4 fantastic years at UGA, he attended the Medical College of Georgia, graduating in 2001, and then completed his pediatric residency at the Greenville Hospital System in Greenville, South Carolina in 2004. Following residency, Dr. Sprayberry and his lovely wife, Amy, returned to the Athens area with their children and have resided in Oconee County ever since. They are active in their church and enjoy snow and water skiing, as well as attending UGA athletic events now that their children have completed their extracurricular activities and athletic careers and have moved on to adulthood.

Doctor Sprayberry practiced as a primary pediatrician in Athens and Watkinsville from 2004 until 2019, when Prime Time Pediatrics was born as a way to provide access to same day sick visits for children who were not able to see their primary pediatricians. Because Dr. Sprayberry understands that it can be difficult for pediatricians to meet the demand for same day sick visits when their schedules are already full of prescheduled visits and realizing that the pediatric population in the Athens area was outpacing the addition of practicing pediatricians, he wanted to provide a place that pediatricians would feel confident sending the patients they were unable to accommodate.

Doctor Sprayberry has served on the board of the Georgia Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics and has served as clinical assistant professor with the AU/UGA Medical Partnership, the Medical College of Georgia, and the UGA Faculty of Medical Sciences. His clinical interests include medical missions, adoption, foster care, and urgent care medicine.
